St. Andrew Community Medical Center (SACMC) is a volunteer and donor supported medical clinic. Volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, assistants and others provide general primary care, prescription medications, and ongoing medical care for chronic illnesses depending on the type of providers available. SACMC c is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, incorporated in Florida [EIN/TIN: 32-0103234].
Supported by partners and donors, SACMC physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, and staff provide general primary medical care for non-emergency conditions. The pharmacy fills and distributes routine, non-narcotic medications to patients. In addition, volunteers complete patient needs assessments and referrals so some patients can receive selected medications directly from the pharmaceutical companies via SACMC’s prescription Patient Assistance Program (PAP). Believing in the healing power of God’s love, if desired by the patient, SACMC encouragers provide prayer support and spiritual counseling. In addition, referrals for food, clothing, job training, smoking cessation, and drug and alcohol recovery programs are provided along with referrals to other local agencies.
The death rate in Bay County is significantly higher than the state’s average, and chronic diseases such as heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes are prevalent in the county. The lack of access to primary, preventative medical care results in unnecessary Emergency Room visits. Bay County’s working poor need the primary care and prescription medications provided by St. Andrew Community Medical Center.
Patients must:
[1] be Bay County residents
[2] have gross incomes at or below 200% of the federal poverty level (based on family size)
[3] have no access to health insurance (including Medicare, Medicaid, Medically Needy programs).
All patients are screened by state certified volunteers
